and as can be seen, The Bill Gates funded broadsheet and the BBC have no problem in shaping the narrative. we have pensioners on here that seem to have forgotten the past!!! :xmashehe:
“shaping the narrative”? They are reporting facts, I’ve never known a Christmas where I’ve not bothered having the radiators for hours on end during the day like I have this year and because I’m a pensioner,I can remember stacks of Christmases.

I don't think we ever had the radiators on until I was around 25.

              Re: The weather!

When I was a lad a day like today would have been described as wet and windy. Nowadays it has to be called a STORM for extra dramatic effect!

It’s so mild, he probably thinks it’s March.

Newspapers predict the nation is going to be besieged with huge snowfalls every year, but it never seems to happen.
Just a cheap way of filing their newspapers and websites, now that they hardly employ any journalists anymore.

Anyone claiming that they know exactly what the weather will be on a particular day more than a week or so away is lying to you.

Oh I remember it well. Especially getting the snow out of the attic before it had a chance to melt!

Not yet a (state) pensioner but I remember too.

Ice on the insides of the windows. Snow drifts three times my height (though I was just 4 so everything looked bigger!).

I've had to scrape ice from my car a grand total of once so far this winter, and probably twice last winter tops.
