  • Re: Epstein.

    Randy Mandy is another goner!

The British Ambassador to the United States of America, Labour’s ‘Prince of Darkness’ Peter Mandelson, has been ‘withdrawn’ from his role!

Keir Starmer sacks Peter Mandelson as the UK's ambassador to the US

Mandelson, appointed in December, faced mounting scrutiny over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein

Starmer's statement came moments before the government was due to answer an urgent about Mandelson's appointment - watch the Commons live above

An extraordinary end to an extraordinary career in public life. And this time, yes, surely it is the end.

The "third man" with Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in the creation of New Labour, Mandelson resigned from Blair's cabinet twice, spent four years in Brussels as Britain’s European Commissioner, and in the final stretch of Brown’s premiership he was essentially the deputy prime minister.

He has generally been seen to have done a very good job in those roles, just as - by common consensus in Whitehall and Washington - he had performed very well as ambassador.

But performance in the job has never been Mandelson’s problem.

And yet again it is something else which has brought him down.

'Revulsion' in Labour at Mandelson links with Epstein, says MP

Labour MP Andy McDonald has said there is "widespread revulsion" in the party over Lord Mandelson's links with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, amid growing calls for him to be sacked.

McDonald called for Lord Mandelson to stand down "immediately" as the UK's ambassador to Washington, following fresh revelations in emails about his relationship with Epstein.

The Conservatives are stepping up pressure on Sir Keir Starmer to sack Lord Mandelson, with an urgent question from MP Neil O'Brien due in Parliament shortly.

Home Office Minister Mike Tapp said the PM continues to have "confidence in Mandelson" and his abilities as ambassador, adding the "disturbing" emails made him "shudder".

Lord Mandelson is reported by Bloomberg to have told Epstein to "fight for early release" shortly before he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, and told him, "I think the world of you" the day before he began his sentence for soliciting prostitution from a minor in June 2008.

McDonald told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "I'm afraid if he [Mandelson] doesn't do the right thing and resign today then the prime minister should sack him."

The PM will face "inescapable" questions about his own judgement in appointing Lord Mandelson, said McDonald, who suggested the vetting process may have failed.

Asked how Labour MPs were feeling about Lord Mandelson, McDonald said: "It is widespread revulsion that we, by association, being in the same party, are being brought under the microscope for something that he has done.

"There isn't anybody in the Labour Party who is supporting Peter Mandelson today and the prime minister's got to hear that and understand that he'll weaken his position if he continues to support him."

The MP for Middlesbrough and Thornaby East dismissed concerns sacking Lord Mandelson could damage to relations with US President Donald Trump and urged Sir Keir to show he had a "moral compass" to honour Epstein's victims.

Asked what he thought of Lord Mandelson's emails to Epstein on BBC Breakfast, Home Office Minister Mike Tapp said the emails made him physically "shudder", adding: "I find it disturbing, those sorts of emails in honesty."

Tapp, who has worked for the National Crime Agency, said: "I have arrested these vile paedophiles and had to meet many of the victims of these crimes, so it's really important that's clear."

However, asked whether the government was reviewing Lord Mandelson's future as ambassador, Tapp said "the prime minister has confidence in his ability"

He added that that "the work he is doing in America is very important", stressing the recent UK-US trade deal, as well as their defence relationship around the threat from Russia.

The timing of the revelations about Lord Mandelson is particularly difficult for Sir Keir, ahead of President Trump's state visit to the UK next week.

Sir Keir Starmer faces growing calls to sack the UK's ambassador to Washington after fresh revelations.

There has always been pics of him with Epstein, I have little doubt he's in it neck deep but its simply the hypocrisy, the left doesn't give a f*ck about the victims its simply get Trump and nothing else matters, as long Trump is implicated, the rape and torture by anyone else doesn't matter, my view is that anyone and everyone who committed these offences deserves the punishment to the full extent of the law whatever that may be and if any of my favorite actors musicians celebs etc. etc. are involved, ****s i will give for them will be zero.
The current DOJ is claiming that they are protecting victims with redactions, and whilst this will be true to an extent, but IMO, the redactions are continuing to protect the rich and elite and maybe some not so rich and elite from justice, these people have been protected for decades.
You think that the current DOJ is covering up, I dont disagree with this, The Biden DOJ who weaponized the organisation and went after Trump with anything they could had these files and didn't go after him with this do you not wonder why?
I dont think its because he isn't implicated, I think it's because irrespective of the theatre of the left and right, on this issue they all protect themselves and use it for leverage when its their turn in power.
You still think Pizzagate was conspiracy? No wonder these people walk about freely with the knowledge they are insulated.

Do you think “anyone and everyone” involved has been revealed yet? If they have, why are there still all of these redactions? I also want anyone and everyone involved to be out there in the public domain. As for Trump, people are bound to think he is implicated while his administration are not releasing all of the Epstein documents - there’s an easy way to show there is nothing in the Epstein files that will really hurt him, but he’s not doing it at the moment.

The longer he witholds full release, the more his base will turn against him so as far as I'm concerned he can keep them under wraps for a little longer. Intellect isn't Don's strong point

I mean the BBC does give a reason here as to why some files are redacted etc

The White House says the Trump administration is "the most transparent in history" and has "done more for the victims than the Democrats ever have".

Some serious crimes took place here. I get th political intrigue but I don't think the whole thing should turn into a circus about Trump because some people don't like him.

On that point, remember the Biden administration went after Trump where they could, with multiple lawsuits and attempts to stop him running for president again. Do you really think they would sit on some smoking gun like this?

If you do then fair enough, but I probably wouldn't be chastising the intellect of others in that case.

It was a blackmail ring that was used to control some very influential people, and the short answer is you ain't getting any of those names. I think it would be more interesting to know the who, what, where, when, how & why about the people doing the blackmailing.

They have done more than this bloke which is a fact but not an excuse.

if only there had been a democrat in the White House for four years with a DOJ weaponized against Trump to release all that

Both the BBC and the Guardian (and most of the rest of the press/media) have highlighted the Clinton photos.

This was pinned to the top of the BBC rolling news story on the Epstein files:
