And I've provided an example to show they're not quite as it good as you're making them out to be - as I said, the best of a bad bunch.

Your ideology and bias is leaking through the cracks here.

It's essentially a quango, higher wages at the top than if it were nationalised, completely unaccountable to voters, contracting work out is almost always a more expensive way of providing a service, you pay for the flexibility. I don't think it's a terrible model in the context of how it works here in England but it has it's problems.

It's certainly better than being nationalised and it's certainly better than what you have in england (in my humble opinion)
Everyone has an ideology and bias - and if you are telling me you dont - then I 100% do not believe you.

This year Welsh Water prices are going down (those horrible not for profit people - how dare they lower the prices)
From experience of dealing the WW - they are great - but that is just my opinion.

It definitely is better than what is available in England. I am lucky in the sense that our water company is applying to raise prices by a lower than average amount, 25%. My bias is completely clear. Human's need water to survive and I can't see much of a point to having a democratically elected government if they aren't even in charge of a need that basic.

What would happen if Welsh Water suddenly became shit at what they do, who is in control of their remit/permit to be the sole provider of water to Wales?

It might not be on the horizon but you only need to look a few miles to the east to see just how dysfunctional a system can be.
