Bizarre as it may seem Sludgey, there is a scenario where people think outside the terms you set on the debate

All you are doing here is the equivalent of someone saying..."so will you vote for Corbyn or do you disagree with racism and antisemitism?".

I don't like the guy, but people who framed the argument thus were wrong to do so.

I think anyone who thinks a Southampton born bloke who has Indian parents doesn't understand OUR culture is a clown and I really don't want to have anything to do with that sort of party or anyone who votes for them

Yes, but as I said, Farage says that he refers to his aloofness, him being wealthy and out of touch etc (which you yourself say) and leaving D-Day early etc. When pressed the first thing he said was to mention to number of commonwealth soldiers who fought.

You imply it's entirely clear cut, but it simply isn't.

In seeking to find, illuminate and perhaps inflame incidents as all being related to race, you may be making it worse himself.

If someone is out and out racist that is different, but just claiming something is doesn't really cut it.

He made the comment

Then was asked about it by the press and tried to weasel his way out of it

He didn't make the comment in a TV debate then defend what he said

He had time to reposition himself after he made a complete idiot of himself
