I'd avoid trying to drive down boulevard de Nantes for a bit. People sat and stood in the road blocking traffic by park place.

Said about pretty much every protest in history from civil rights, suffragettes anti South African apartheid etc.Originally posted by JamesWales View PostVery selfish "look at me" behaviour that doesn't help their cause.
Right wingers and centrists always say they support protests in the past such as the above but anything currently happening? Nah.
This shows what side certain people would have been on if they were around in those times.

I've been to loads of protests; ranging in importance from the Iraq war to the rebrand. I never once shut down traffic.
I've had limited time for the protests from the start as it was pretty clear they were more pro Palestine than anti-war but I 100% support their right to protest.
I remember one anti Iraq war protest in 2002 by the time they had reduced in size a bit I think, and it all spilt onto North Road and a handful of people sat to stop traffic.
I thought at the time, that's the beginning of the end of these when people start doing that. It's just wankerish behaviour irrespective of the topic at hand.

It's all politcal. Demo's will end once Sir Kier's Muslim party are in power.
Might start up if he invades Iraq though, or presses the red button nuke button as he suggested yesterday he would if ordered by Angela or David Lammy (god help us ) the next Foreign Secretary

Didn't see this one Jimbo. **** me, you're off form mate. Jimbo is speaking for all of us now, comparing these protesters to spoilt children. Didn't you join a party called respect that was based around the invasion of Iraq, consequently directly involved in the shutting down of central London for the day due to protest. C'mon him, I'm trying to help you out of this mess you're making. Take a break mate, get some sea air or something.Originally posted by JamesWales View PostVery selfish "look at me" behaviour that doesn't help their cause.

Protest is a critical part of civil society, we all know that, but that doesn't mean you can do what you like when you like. To think it does makes you selfish.
I'm on good form actually. Criticising some left-wing hit piece videl and thinking legal and peaceful protests are more valid (and successful!) all in one day!
All I need to do is take offence at something Sludge has said and I'll have bagged myself a hatrick!
