Isabel Oakshott is a right wing shocker and needs to sort her hair out
Melanie Smith , unofficial spokeswoman for Mossad was married to the BBC chief legal correspondent Joshua Rosenberg
Laura Kuenesberg , Nick Robinson .......young tories who went on to lead BBC political department
Plenty of Tories as director General etc of BBC over the years

Re: Question Time Right Wing Bias?
That's not a clear analysis is it, because media representatives are only part of it. What about other celebrities? I think Question Time broadly get the left/right balance right.Originally posted by Eric the Half a Bee View Post
On the whole Brexit thing, we do know they were heavily biased (by 2:1) in favour of Remainers, although that was largely through politicians most of whom did vote to stay in the EU
Heinz Brandenburg and Brian Boyle ask the question whether BBC Question Time was balanced or biased during the Brexit debate.
We all like a moan at the BBC but overall I think they get most things right.

Yet when it came to Brexit, UKIP appeared on Question Time around a quarter of the time and nearly 4 times as much as the Green Party.Originally posted by JamesWales View PostThat's not a clear analysis is it, because media representatives are only part of it. What your link doesn't state is whether those MPs etc gave their own views or followed their party lines on QT.

Sure, although UKIP did win a national election in 2014 and I don't think the Greens have ever finished higher than perhaps fourth?Originally posted by Eric the Half a Bee View PostYet when it came to Brexit, UKIP appeared on Question Time around a quarter of the time and nearly 4 times as much as the Green Party.

I'm sure some had independent minds but no doubt most toed the party line on such an important topic.
My point generally is that depending how you assess the data you can get a different result but I don't think there's much evidence of a right-wing bias. Papers like the National would never report anything in the other direction anyway.

There are more Reform / UKIP voters than tbe Green-Extremists so that was fair. more votes than Party X so why don’t we hear more?”. So that was fixed.
Plus there was a very obvious and natural balancing act to be played at the time of the Brexit vote. Why would Green, Cons, Labour, and Lib Dems have equal weighting? If the debate was about pro and anti Brexit, it would actually make sense that those arguing for Brexit to get 50% air time, and Remain 50%, in the spirit of balance. In which case I would expect to hear roughly 50% air time for Boris, Farage and Rees-Mogg (or something similar) and 50% for those arguing Remain. So you could argue that just for the referendum the “Brexit” debaters were under-represented. The only reason you would disagree is if you didn’t believe in a fair debate, wanted to throttle democracy or wanted to approach your politics in a Mafia way (control and destroy your opponent by any means rather than through fair process)

Leave Oakeshott alone please. I would happily strip her naked and do all sorts. A wonderful and very fit specimen of nature. Top billing tottyOriginally posted by SLUDGE FACTORY View PostThe BBC has never been a left wing organisation

Nah it's just confirmation bias, you see something you feel favours the right you make note and feel aggrieved, I think they are left but that's probably the same, they are somewhere in the middle.Originally posted by Eric the Half a Bee View Post
At least you sometimes not often, you do admit when Labour make mistakes like daft speeds, Bob and the lefties never do, they are completely blinkered and biased.
Both parties are terrible, the country is in a mess!

Re: Question Time Right Wing Bias?
Emily Maitlis, former Question Time host, has talked about this. The BBC's spirit of impartiality doesn't always make sense. She mentioned that, if lots of experts on one thing agreed on something, they'd have to find someone with an opposing view, even if that view was nonsense or not shared by many.Originally posted by Keyser Soze View PostThere are more Reform / UKIP voters than tbe Green-Extremists so that was fair. Boris Johnson appointed Sir Robbie Gibb to the BBC board - Gibb was previously Theresa May's head of communications and a founder of GB News. Of course he's going to promote impartiality.....
