Sorry, just realised I’ve not posted this on the alternate site.

    Re: COVID enquiry first report.

One thing I was struck by when this news landed a few days ago was how generally disinterested people were in it. It dominated our lives for two years, the sting in the tail of it still continues but people just don't want to hear or talk about COVID anymore it seems. I can understand why.

Cos people are bored of it and don't want reminding of it

Yet you chipped in to resurrect a post from two days ago?

Try telling that to people who lost loved ones.

People are interested in things the media tell them to be interested in.

Given your real time covid pronouncements needing a year's sabattical, which bits of the report do you think validated your stupidity?

                  Oh for Christ sake..

Yes. I think people in the country are generally a bit bored of it. Don't you? The reaction to this long awaited report created didn't create many headlines. It doesn't mean no one will ever discuss it.

                  Is that okay?

Most people were apparently bored of it but only one poster chipped in to say how suprised they were that people were bored of it. In my opinion the reason it did not trigger reaction on here was because it reinforced most people's opinions about how ill prepared the government was for what was to come. Most people recognised that and saw no need to amplify it.

More pertinently for this Board, the report gave no succour to the gifted and talented retrospective club, hence the lack of dialogue!

Is commenting on a thread "chipping in" now is it?

So sorry about that Cyril. I will ask your permission next time! I was just offering an opinion based on my experience since the news broke.

I am sure you wished that everyone stopped what they were doing and talked about how bad the government was, but that wasnt my experience. I think it's something people want to move on from, and that general reaction has struck me.

As I say, that doesn't mean no one is prevented from commenting on it, I just think as a society, it's something I think most want to put behind them. Not of course for many who lost loved ones (as was mentioned above) but I mean generally.

                        Bit narky of an evening.

Still, what are the bits of the report that you think worthy of discussion?

Yes, you are. Have an Ovaltine and stop picking fights please!

I don't have any great desire to talk about any of the report.

                            Gotcha.

So once events happen and there are enquiries into them then you care not a jot about the findings because you and others might be a bit bored about it?

                              Old news now.

                              China to blame and gain.

                              Should not have locked down.

                              Schools should have stayed open.

Nightingale Hospitals should have been used to care for day to day medicals to keep waiting lists down.

Vulnerable should have been the only ones to isolate and COVID budgets just went too their care and need.

The rest of us should have did what generations before had done adopt herd immunity.

Scientists also got it wrong and they advised governments and us so the buck also sits with them

Created control freak leaders in Wales and Scotland both fallen from grace.
