I dunno about broken promises - they kept the biggest one to get out of the EU. A few weeks after than COVID hit and the rest is history. Was never going to be able to be a normal term of government then, and their other big error (general mistrust, sense of corruption etc) stemmed from it with partygate. The Truss budget then ruined the reputation (not particularly deserved) for financial capability.

I dunno about broken promises - they kept the biggest one to get out of the EU. A few weeks after than COVID hit and the rest is history. Was never going to be able to be a normal term of government then, and their other big error (general mistrust, sense of corruption etc) stemmed from it with partygate. The Truss budget then ruined the reputation (not particularly deserved) for financial capability.

I think there are too many to list if you go through the individual 'by the end of this parliament' statements from 2010 onwards.

I think that will probably apply to labour as well although they have been so light on detail it will be hard to pin them down.

I'm living through one now, they promised to ban section 21 evictions multiple times and then just didn't do it, that has absolutely nothing to with external shocks, they just didn't prioritise it. Which is fine but if you make a promise and don't follow through you should be held accountable.

The only difference is the last government went through a recession, pandemic, war in Europe, engery crisis .

Which estimates of funding the protection of business , economy, jobs is a bewildering and financial burden in the billions not seen since WW2 , it is ridiculous to think that this didn't come at any cost that the last government could control .

I know it saved jobs in our industry.

All this is driven by political hatred , not sensible judgement.

I couldn't stand the Tory governments and their deranged ideaologies since 2010 and don't support any political party but I think there are some valid points raised in this thread.
