    Careful James

When I accused some people of being hypocritical over this issue ( I actually said hypocritical b******s but,hey we are all adults here) I got a,rather unpleasant post from Dorcus and I think I peed off Eric Cartman as well who also made some unfounded allegations about my reasons for posting on this subject.

And of course the usual rubbish from Sludge completely failing to answer the points I made.

But I know your back is broad and you won't give a damn if they try the same with you.

I couldn't care less if a coalition of Labour, liberals , greens and Lord Buckethead getting us over the line kept you lot out

From what I have read of posts made over the last in the couple of years preceeding the election the same people who are defending the removal of the winter fuel allowance were the ones questioning the merit of the triple lock and the bias in the Tory manifesto towards the aged. If you have hypocritical evidence to the contrary you definitely have the opportunity to air it here.

Take it from me you wont find any posts from me that further your claim. I think those at or approaching pensionable age have been amongst the most fortunate generations that have ever lived. They indeed have benefitted from a cradle to grave NHS, student grants not taxes, and affordable house purchases that have massively appreciated over their lifetimes.

As with every age group we need to protect the most vulnerable but over the last few years we have seen a political party in the thrall of pensioners as they considered them their major go-to voting cohort.

I fully agree with your last sentence by the way. It would surely apply to someone arguing against windfall taxes to allieviate the energy crisis until they were introduced by the Tories and backing Boris Johnson after a pensioner claimed that she had to ride the buses because she couldn't fully heat her home for example.
And now we see a Government in the t in jhrall of trades union.

You really know f*ck about me Sludge.

Any way don't worry. Whilst I was intending to start posting more on this board, I am going to give the Colonel's board a try.

I have had some decent responses on there recently so a change is as good as a rest.

I am not flouncing and will still be on here now and again, but I really can't be bothered with some of you on here ( doesn't actually mean you Sludge although you can be bloody infuriating at times. You are a decent bloke at heart though)

You were going to send me a longer reply but that never came, I wasn't going to bring it up because who cares but since you did. Go for it.

I've explained pretty clearly why I think the policy makes sense but with the caveat that potentially the threshold is too low. You can join James marching around saying people 'would have been against it if the Tories did it' in every single thread if you like, but its pointless because you cant prove it and I cant disprove it. Just engage in good faith and you will get the same back.

Don't give in to them EB, they are just playground bullies hunting in packs. If you give in to them their facist tactics work. Fight fire with fire and laugh at their hero and his 1st 6 weeks or so proving himself to be more dismissive of his base than any previous Labour PM in history I'm going to have a fun 4 years or so, its going to be easy to tune them up into frenzy as he continues to piss over the people dancing to his masters at the WEF.

He will make Thatcher look like a choir girl.

Who thinks that Starmer is some sort of 'hero'?

                        Genuinely who?

                            He's utterly mad

                            HB , not starmer

Starmer has sorted out those rioters big style ....that was a serious situation and he did well

The poor old pensioners thing is just headlines for the Tories to cry over

They have subsidised their vote base for years and years

It wouldn't surprise me if they drop the plans and starmer will be poked at but a slightly better government is likely to be the best us non Tories can hope for at present

                            That's the way it is

No I don't intend to give in HB.

That's why I said I would still write on here. I may even end up posting just much like Eric after he announced his departure sometime ago.

But just thought I would give the Colonel board a try for a bit

What is the Colonel Upto anyway? I recollect him before. Quite a funny chap but swallowed the red coolaid from recollection?
