Ideologues usually have good jobs with big fat pensions, and they don't have a clue about how people live in the real world.
Private school educated with school friends who raced Formula 1 Cars and played tennis at Wimbledon. Has life since then been a let down for you and having to live in the real world become a bit of a scar?

The other thing that strikes me as hypocritical is that for an OP (I only refer to him in the third person these days) regularly bangs on about not wanting to class politics as left and right but then not only does so but then reveals their hand by throwing in a classist comment. If you work, you're working class. It's only the likes of the mega-rich or those funded by them (I'm looking at you Yaxley-Lennon and Farage) who do things as a hobby and pretend it's a job or a social calling who aren't. Middle class is a construct of the elites to try and give the illusion working class people can join their club. When it's always been about what tie you wear.
