A lot of right wing sorts have been complaining about the decline of this country and asking for the police and the courts to put people behind bars

It was laughable to listen to them complaining about these sentences when the boot was on the other foot

These stone throwers were part of mobs several hundred strong who scared the crap out of innocent people , tried to run people out of hotels , hostels , put windows through streets where they thought immigrants lived and some even tried to burn down buildings

They were all part of this so that's why the police and courts could send them to prison

The law that convicted these idiots was brought in by the conservatives following the miners strike

So if it's OK to deal with them it's OK to deal with racists

Unless you think these stone throwers were not racists and thugs , were justified in what they did and in fact should have been allowed to go home to mum and dad for tea ?

Now I think 2 years for fighting with the old Bill even if you are a thick racist is maybe a bit much but what would you suggest people convicted of violent disorder should get ?

Like everything, prison places are limited; let's not jail poor benefit fraudsters who are not likely to cause physical harm, but let's bang up the violent sort who cause misery. Labour had plans to reduce prison numbers long before the far right decided to try and smash up the country

Starmer may be many things and he's certainly a bit of a chinwag but it's not like the riots started and he came on the news saying right that's it , open the prisons .......among the nutters trying to set fire to innocent people and police officers we need to jail a few 17 year olds throwing stones !
