Dave Godin (the man who put the name on Northern Soul) finally gets some public recognition! He was a friend of ours from the mid 1980s until his death. A little-sung hero of film and music. There's quite a few moving pieces regarding how it all came together. Did you know Marvin Gaye lived in Ostend for a while? I've actually been there during the winter months. It's basically a ghost town at that time of the year with not much going on, and I met some locals there who had befriended him. It was a great trip with quiet bars, no tourists, and loads of Trappist beer.
