They are all broad churches whether you like the idea or not and there is a big chunk of the electorate like me who, depending on circumstances, could vote on different occasions for any two or even three of them

The police are supposed to operate without 'fear or favour' - unless the police PR department fears the massed ranks of the Tory press, the Tories, Reform, Elon Musk and that paragon of virtue (not) Graham Stringer MP (Labour-ish). So they have done a favour to the racist gobshite that is Allison Pearson?

As I pointed out Sonia Sodha the Observer columnist and Geoffrey Robertson the well known Civil Rights Lawyer have also criticised the police action.

They can hardly be described as Right wingers. Are they wrong? Are they also doing Pearson a favour?

One more point for you Jon(or anyone else who wants to answer)

If the police had had the same photograph with people carrying a Hamas flag, would you still regard Pearson's comments as racist?

Sorry, I thought my question was quite straightforward.

Is your problem with her comments on the photo allegedly at the centre of the row due purely to the fact that she misidentified Imran Khan supporters as Hamas followers (which I have already agreed was a crass mistake).

Would her comments have been acceptable to you if they had actually been Hamas supporters carrying a Hamas flag?
