:hehe:this is where confirmation bias becomes Truthpaste’s friend.

I'm surprised that the Bible is so parochial that it doesn't mention the fleshpots of London, Amsterdam, Bangkok, New York, Shanghai, Cape Town or Buenos Aires regarding the final days. It all seems a tad localised but I suppose that sheep are a bit thin on the ground in those cities.

Maybe a more comprehensive prediction was formulated by Nostradamus.......

Anyway,as we know, 'God' will only be letting a tiny minority of human beings into his Heaven as he has spectacularly failed to have most of them believe in him throughout human history.

On the other hand, truthpaste seems to think that the great majority of humanity are influenced by Satan, a character without a church network, without a tome for his believers, without his teachings being prumulgated in schools and contained in national anthems, without states collecting taxes on his behalf, without inquisitions and torture nor what the cost would be for not believing in him. truthpaste's version of 'God' seems to have cocked-up big time whichever way you look at it. Presumably, besides the stick and carrot he promulgated (being born sinners and going to hell nless you believe in him) the bloody peasants went off and believed in other gods, different versions of the Abrahamic gods or simply not at all - and many Christians decided to become what my lay preacher friend describes as "pick and mix" i.e. they consider stories such as Genesis as not being literal.

If truthpaste's god exists, he's quite a spectacular failure.

              Can't argue with this.

God left people like you to report on the fleshpots they could get to; maybe he has better things to do.

As for Nostradamus, you've fallen into the trap of looking at what he wrote without consulting the Book he respected above all others, the Bible; he obtained all his knowledge about the future from God's Word, why do you think he got loads of stuff right!

A great creator who will punish or destroy the vast majority of human beings he created in the history of the Earth. You couldn't make it up.

Correction: someone did......and the indoctrinated and the gullible believe it

What's your response about the taking donkey? Do you believe it or will you swerve the question again?

History shows that Damascus has not been continuously occupied which is the key fact re understanding this prophecy in Isaiah 17:1-2. The secondary issue which you have all naturally leapt on is (as always) the Genesis issue; as you are all hoping for a godless existence or accountability to a God who does not call you to account for your thoughts, words and deeds. The God first mentioned in Genesis does, as well you know.

Her comment re 8,000-10,000 years is a speculative comment as can be seen in the context. I'm sure you guys have searched high and low for any verified artifact which is over 6000 years old and failed, and there is no 'cigar' here either.

"Damascus will be a 'heap of ruins' in a coming day and we know this hasn't been fulfilled before because Damascus is said to be "the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world"."

                              What a mess
