  • New £200,000 play area

A new £200,000 play area has opened for children at Springfield Park in Bishopbriggs.

Funded by the Scottish Government's Renewing Scotland's Play Park Funding and East Dunbartonshire Council's Capital Funding, the play area includes the largest multi-play unit in East Dunbartonshire.

This unit comprises chutes, climbing frames, monkey bars, and inclusive games panels.

There is also a smaller multi-play unit for younger children, a balance trail, see-saw, roundabout, large rope swing, and a 30-metre zipline.

Is this where you like to hang out? Asking for a friend.

      It's all swings and roundabouts.

Yeah, but it's quite a random post. Is it a recommendation for a nice day out with the kids, or perhaps it's for those who enjoy swinging through the trees on a rope like dressed like Tarzan? It could even be a simple error, where he got this site mixed up with Mumsnet and pressed send by mistake.

Definitely the most random post of 2025 so far. Which is quite an accolade

            I agree.

It knocks the Lemon Fanta thread on the head!

Although I have a feeling there will be more competition (for the accolade - not lemonade) very soon.

            Alan is on fire.

A vending machine is due to be installed there next month. No further updates are available.
