Oh, that’s sad news, didn’t realise he was my age.

Saw the Jam in Sophia Gardens Pavillion in 1979 I think it was, it felt like I was one of the oldest people in there.

          Re: I,m Going Underground

Sad news, saw it posted on a few fb mod groups I’m in, but someone said he was ill but still alive…what a band they were late 70’s early 80’s…was too young to see them live.

To be fair Paul Weller is upset but not half as upset as me having to listen to all the rubbish he's put out since The Jam split up

Don't normally contribute to these type of threads and wasn't really a fan of the jam but I am a little saddened to hear of this news, my musical taste changes from week to week but currently, my favorite Jam tune is ghosts. Raw, clean and just a listenable spin.

I'm sure it's just coincidence, but the amount of drummers that die before anyone else does in a band is pretty phenomenal.

News like this inevitably leads me on a little Wikipedia journey.

Not a huge Jam fan, but I didn't realize Paul Weller was so young - only 66. In fact he is only 7 years older than Simon Fowler of Ocean Colour Scene, who I think of as being an entirely different generation altogether.
