          No 'other/neither' option?

I’ve no idea who started the war , but with Ukraine suffering unimaginable casualties it’s probably a good thing it’s hopefully about to end - surely we don’t want WW3 or are most people on here virtue signalling?

Re: who started the war in Ukraine?

There's no question to who started it.

              Russia started it.

Where there is scope for debate is why it started then and why is started there and what the war is really about and whether it could have been avoided etc. Those are fair questions. We all acknowledge there were causes for WW2 for example. But on who started it, there is no doubt.

But again, it all comes back to what happens if we don't seek peace. Are we all really prepared for it to go on and on and on? Or do we ramp things up, in which case what happens then?

                        The poll was badly constructed.

Regarding your comment about 'what happens if we don't seek peace'.

The word 'we' is rather nebulous in this context. UK, European nations and Ukraine seem to have been sidelined while the imbecilic Trump seems to swallow whole the propaganda from Russia.

I mean we as a global community. Everyone seems pretty confident that if the war ends then an emboldened Putin will invade Estonia or somewhere else, but we have to consider what might happen if it continues too, and not just the cost in terms of people's lives, which is certainly measured in the hundreds of thousands so far.

I think everyone is obsessed with Trump's involvement and probably overlooking the fact that every peace settlement ends in giving some concessions to people who definitely do not deserve it, in this case Putin. The war ends that way or it ends in destruction of one or both sides, which seems unlikely and also undesirable. But the alternative to trying for peace is what? Trump is president for four years. We can't change that and I think seeing what happens in this case is not entirely unreasonable and either way is the only option. What are we going to do? March on Whitehall demanding war? Not going to happen

I think you are missing the point entirely and went off at tangent.
