  • Prayers For The Pope

If my old dear was alive she would be at it every day with the hail Mary's

If he lives it will be down to all the prayers and gods love

If he kicks the bucket .....it was God's will to take him into heaven etc etc

    Barking Mad

Surely if anyone doesn't need other people to have a word with their chosen deity on their behalf it's said deity's representative on earth?

Well Mary can save nobody and unless he has some serious dealings with God in his latter days, then heaven is certainly not on the menu for him.

Funny to think that if Henry VIII hadn't wanted to bang Anne Boleyn so much, then you'd be a Catholic.

I think it was more if Catharine of Aragon had given birth to a son.
Monarchs frequently had mistresses and illegitimate children - if he just wanted to bang around he would have done so (and probably did).
They were married for 24 years - the next 5 wives were all a couple of years each at most and he had an increasingly desperate attempts to secure an heir.

Anne Boleyn's family were canny. She refused to sleep with him unless they were married, and that drove him even more wild for her.

She was not going to be his mistress.

If He already had a couple of heirs in tow he wouldn't have even been on the market

If you say so! Yet you are assuming a lot about how that alternative future could have panned out!
Yet now that people have a choice, they can still make the wrong one and choose dead religion.

Henry suffered from a receding heir line.

Indeed. The default religion is one that one's parents already had. Funny that.

And we all suffer from an error made by one common ancestor, which needs addressing.

If the pope himself can’t get into heaven. What’s the bloody point in the rest of us trying??

Yet you now know that wasting your life being religious can't get you there, neither can good works, trying your best, holy communion, going to church or morality.

Millions of peope have tried all of these and failed; so at least you are a step ahead of them.

                              What church do you attend?
