Brilliant actor - one of the very best - and a very interesting life story. He got into pictures the hard way.

His wife was only 63 (he was 95) and from the initial news stories it sounds like a suicide pact? I doubt the dog had a say.

The first film I remember seeing him (and we share a birthday by the way) was 'Freebie and The Bean' but I can't say I have ever seen a trace of it since, not even in charity shops or languishing on the shelves of Blockbusters (not that I used to frequent either that much).

He was 95, no suspicious circumstances apparently. Mississippi Burning is a great film and I thought he was vey good in Unforgiven.

RIP to both of them and the poor dog.

Are you sure? He's not mentioned in the cast list on imdb.
If you want to check you can buy it on Amazon Prime or Sky for Ł3.49

She'll be along in a minute as it's time for nap.

Bit of a change of tack from the police now.

Authorities say there was no sign the couple had sustained any injuries, but no cause of death has been given.

As you said butt, a great actor.

The two films that stick with me are Mississippi Burning and The Royal Tenebaums.

At 95 he had a decent go at it. Although I’m a bit sus about his wife and dog going at the same time.

I don't do conspiracy stuff but have read on blue sky that his royalties were large, one of the tops.

Will always be Lex Luther for me and the nasty guy in The Firm.

Hasn't done anything since 2004 according to Wikipedia, which is interesting and an early retirement in that industry

A gift of a story for all conspiracy theorists I would think. The possibilities are endless.

Re: films. IMO French Connection was the best.
