I liked the ending

Nice to read stories about what a genuine nice guy he was, being a normal person in the town they settled in, shunning Hollywood despite being a proper star. Top films always make a mark on you, Mississippi Burning definitely did that….

Yes , harrowing film but great the way Hackman portrays that bloke who was brought up by his racist father in a racist place but becomes a decent cop fighting racism
