I'm still hoping it will go ahead in some shape or form. Corbyn has brilliant ideas and is a great communicator but has zero leadership ability. I think there is enough of a momentum and desire that some form of new party will emerge.

Just vote green or lib dem or in my case labour if they get rid of starmer

Another party sucking the votes out of what must be an anti reform ticket alliance etc etc is a disaster

      It was always about egos

          Reform must happen sludge :hehe:

The Work and Pensions Secretary tells the BBC he will press ahead with welfare system changes.

“ The scale of the challenge is daunting. About 3.7 million people of working age receive health-related benefits. The independent Office for Budget Responsibility forecasts that the bill for health and disability benefits will reach £100bn by 2030.”

Someone might need to dig out his roller and brush he bought in Wilko 20 years ago…..

They put out articles criticising Plaid, it isn't some Plaid Cymru newspaper and it receives government funding. Yes Cymru is separate to Plaid. Just because they all have Cymru in the name doesn't mean they're all in cahoots

Sludge, you seem more interested in the independence question than Plaid are at this point, they ruled out any independence referendum if they won months ago

Media propaganda against Reform? The vast majority of newspapers agree with them and the TV channels are giving them unparalleled coverage! BBC and Sky showed an hour long Farage speech in full the other day!

Yes Cymru are actively behind those pro independence marches

I think its idiotic but I will vote plaid to keep out reform until there is a better alternative

If you think Plaid Cymru saying they have ruled out any independence vote holds any water with a lot of voters then 😉

That's not true is it. The vast majority of papers don't support Reform at all. Compared to their number of MPs they do get very good coverage but people like talking about them (Ed Davey is obsessed with Farage!), they are winning 50% of council byelections and have led every opinion poll for months.

I agree with your earlier comments on Nation Cymru though. I think it's pretty good, and far better than Wales Online. Editorially I think it shares similar ground (broadly centre left and pro Welsh establishment) though unfortunately, but the journalism is better generally and it feels fresher.

Not in Wales, Wales online love to run a negative story about reform….its like Drakeford is writing the articles himself

There is wall to wall coverage of reform in the hard press, tv and social media

Most of it is negative simply because they are a bunch of populist pitchfork rabble rousers and of course they are a very real threat

Yourparty are too busy arguing among themselves to get anywhere , thank god

But if by the time of the election they have managed to sort themselves out and it looks like a vote for them will topple farage I would back them

The chances of that happening are next to nothing , I cant see yourparty being anything more than scargills silly little side show a few years back

UK needs Labour for stability - Eluned Morgan

Warns against Plaid and Reform. Jo Stevens says Plaids independence push would cost every adult £11k. I'm no fan of Welsh independence but that figure is plainly ridiculous

Eluned Morgan tells Labour's Autumn conference about Reform "division" and Plaid "fantasy".

                                Jon,

It is one thing to say we will work together before an election

Quite another to actually do it in the cold light of day after an election.

The danger I see is that if such a coalition gets in in Wales and they then end up fighting like rats in a sack and make a mess of things it may well end up opening the door to Reform in the General Election two years later. I am not convinced a progressive alliance will actually be more straightforward as Polanski thinks. Witness the Your Party debacle!

On the other hand if Reform get in and mess it up, they may well suffer in the next General Election.

Many voters in Wales (and Scotland of course) are going to face a dilemma next year.
