Reform will be quite happy with 15% in Grangetown. Was an interesting result really

    Greens 24%
    Lab 23%
    Plaid 19%
    Reform 15%
    Propel 10%
    Ind 5%
    Con 4%
    Lib Dem 2%

Only 29% of people voted for what for a century or more would be considered the "big three" parties. Of course council by-elections shouldn't be overly analysed but that is still pretty staggering. The Propel/Plaid thing is interesting too, although Propel is far more populist in tone than Plaid. Tory and Lib Dem share of the vote is shocking really.

Another one next month, in Trowbridge. The Labour candidate (nice guy btw) stood down as he had moved to England. Trowbridge is exactly the kind of working class estate that Reform will want. They picked entirely the wrong candidate in Llanrumney so will need to get that right.

I dunno where you saw that. Llanrumney they may have hoped to win but wouldn't have expected it and picked the wrong candidate (not local, as all councillors should be). Grangetown they never would have expected to win. Trowbridge will be exactly the kind of ward they would hope to pick up in a city. Largely working class, edge of city etc
