Re: Quelle surprise...
So the Reform grifter and champion of free speech didn’t do it ‘for free’. He charged the going rate for prostituting himself to Putin. I’m Not Shocked!Originally posted by Jordi Culé View Post

I guarantee you, the public will see through this shower before the next election, in between elections many dissent but when its time to go in the voting booth, the old habits return.Originally posted by jon1959 View PostSo the Reform grifter and champion of free speech didn’t do it ‘for free’. Seems like Nathan Gill has been caught red handed! The whole "cash for questions" thing is one area in particular where politics is still quite open to abuse really.

I think Labour and Tory voters vote for these two parties and will switch between them, the press will indicate at the time who those above government's want installed as a prime minister, an example of this was Lizz Truss, the press via the overlords got her out when she got in having not been voted in in a GE, she was installed via. a vote in the Tory party and was not chosen by the WEF.Originally posted by JamesWales View PostWho will they return to?!

Oh there's no doubt those doing well want the status quo to continue.Originally posted by Heathblue View PostI think Labour and Tory voters vote for these two parties and will switch between them, the press will indicate at the time who those above government's want installed as a prime minister, an example of this was Lizz Truss, the press via the overlords got her out when she got in having not been voted in in a GE, she was installed via. a vote in the Tory party and was not chosen by the WEF.
I really do think Wales will turn against Labour in 2026 though. We both need a break from eachother tbh. Even if it's a five year holiday

Re: Quelle surprise...
I hope you are right about the public seeing through Reform. They will probably get a bit more scrutiny and get fewer easy (and free and frequent) rides if the polls don’t change - even if they have sections if the Tory press backing them.Originally posted by Heathblue View PostI guarantee you, the public will see through this shower before the next election, in between elections many dissent but when its time to go in the voting booth, the old habits return.
But I am not convinced there will be a return to ‘normal’ at the next election or at any time before that. The UK is not so different from the rest of Europe, and the comfortable post-war duopoly in France, Germany and elsewhere has been exploded. There are new parties and alliances of the left, right and centre (usually centre right). Social media has undermined the influence of the MSM. Populism has morphed into new forms. The international map has changed with major impacts on jobs, migration and cost of living.
All things are possible over the next few years - for bad if we sit back and let it happen; for good if we act together for positive change. Granted my positive may not be yours (although we seem to be agreed on Reform) but it does feel as if the old rules and certainties have gone!

Re: Quelle surprise...
We are in a state of change in terms of geopolitics. People can overreact on that (I'm not saying you are btw!) and confuse this change with the world coming to an end. The world has always been in a state of flux, chaos and war. Recent decades are more peaceful than previous ones, despite the numerous atrocities.Originally posted by jon1959 View PostI hope you are right about the public seeing through Reform. It is true that post war frameworks are fraying though, and even the most communist consensus is changing. In the not too distant future the world's greatest political, economic, military and possibly cultural power will be an undemocratic authoritarian state (China). Europe is struggling to define itself in this world and is weaker than anytime in the last 30 years or so. The impacts of 2008 an ed then Covid are monumental and underestimated. Low growth, reliance of migration, unaffordability of life low birth rates, growing sectarianism. These are serious issues.
As for Reform, no one party has the answers and their biggest problem is they are too new, lacking experience and knowledge. But then that is something the Labour Party and the Tories have in abundance and it hasn't helped them much.
The biggest issue remains the level of immigration. Social progress is impossible at the level of the last few years and very hard based on the level of the last 20. At the very least, Reform get that, and it's only in the last few months Labour seem to have started understanding it.

Or maybe their biggest problem is they are a toxic gang of racist snake oil salesmen?Originally posted by JamesWales View Post

Other opinions are available - but they are wrong!

Zzz. You can do better than that when you put the effort in Jon.Originally posted by jon1959 View PostOr maybe their biggest problem is they are a toxic gang of racist snake oil salesmen?

As pointed out numerous times, it's the party you support that the EHRC investigated for racism!

I thought he couldn't have worded it better: I'm envious. Maybe you would have preferred it in Latin as a minute improvement?Originally posted by JamesWales View PostZzz. You can do better than that when you put the effort in Jon.
