I do not post on this forum like I used to but thought I'd post, not sure if you still post on this forum!!!

Anyway I have been waiting twenty years for this. We used to have many discussions!!

You once said that if Plaid Cymru ever came to power, that you would up and leave and move to England.

My question is....Is this still the case?

    Pob lwc.

I am not a defender of TLG in any way but would the get out clause be that PC are the biggest party and not techically 'in power' in their own right even if they will provide the First Minister?

            Re: FAO: The Lone Gunnman

Twenty years ago. That’s a long time, Simon. It was a very different world back then.

Sam Hammam was still ruling the roost at Ninian Park (just…). The Valley RAMS were an influential force within City’s fanbase and the local media (whatever happened to those guys?). The Cardiff City Stadium was still a pipedream. The Bluebirds hadn’t played at Wembley since the 1920’s. Tony Blair was the UK’s Prime Minister. Rhodri Morgan was the First Minister of Wales. Brexit was no more than a glint in Nigel Farage’s eye (that slimy turd wasn’t even the leader of UKIP at that stage). George W. Bush was the President of the USA, while Donald Trump was hosting the Apprentice.

I’ll be honest, I’ve got no idea what I said to you about Plaid Cymru twenty years ago or how the party was presenting itself back then, but I’d guess we were having some sort of debate about Welsh independence - something I’m still strongly opposed to, although my position is definitely softening as time goes by.

In fact, for the first time in my life, I actually voted for Plaid Cymru in the recent election. Anything to keep Reform in check, that was the main objective as far as I was concerned. I very much doubt I’d vote for Plaid in a general election, but the way things are going I wouldn’t rule that out completely.

We evidently differ on what we think ‘being in power’ means. I don’t believe Plaid gaining the most seats in the Senedd means they’re genuinely in power. I’d consider they were in power if Wales was independent of Westminster and Plaid were running the country, but that’s not the case.

The latest election results both here and in England were genuinely interesting as far as I’m concerned. It’ll be fascinating to see how things pan out now that the two-party stranglehold appears to have finally been broken.

The voting numbers in Wales were also interesting and encouraging. Approximately 18% of the Welsh electorate voted for Plaid Cymru (it was 21% in my constituency), while just 15% of the public in this country voted for Reform (it was 11% in my area). Considering we get Farage and his cronies rammed down our throats by the media morning, noon and night, I think those figures put things in a bit more perspective. Fewer people are being fooled than I feared.

              Hello TLG

Yes 20 years is a long time ago. As for Valley RAMS TV. I was running that up until 2010. However I was married with a young child and another on way in 2011....(ended up having 4 kids). I was also working every other weekend. So I ended up not having any time for VRTV, so it eventually died off. With a young family, season ticket had to go to. You can still find some of my videos on youtube....valleyramstv.

Anyway my oldest son is nearly 17 now and has a season ticket for the last 2 years in the canton. However I have decided to buy a season ticket for my self and my other 13 year old son, so there will be three of us in the canton next season.

I have been pro-indy since about 2000 since I learned about Capel Celyn. You said back then if Wales went Indy you'd leave to go and live in England during one of our discussions. I am glad that you are softening on the idea. Imagine N.F. if he is PM and his concentration camps....(sorry detention camps).

Very good to hear you voted plaid, because Reform are crazy about a bygone era (British Empire) that is not coming back.

An interesting point, Reform spent £18m......£18m in Wales on the Senedd election. Thats like a Starbucks Coffee for every person in Cymru. Now consider Plaid Cymru....they spent about 500k.

Anyway we will have to catch up in the new season, where are you sat?

              PS How are your spiders?

Out of interest where did you get those figures?

They spent £5.5m on the 2024 General Election according to the Electoral Commission.

Can't see any evidence for £18m on the senedd election two years later with an electorate one twentieth the size!

I never got my coffee either!

Particularly as there was a spending limit based on how many candidates you stood in x amount of constituencies. The max they could have spent if having at least 6 in every constituency would be £1,120,000.

Please give the source for that information. I was involved in the Reform campagin and I can assure you we didn't have the funding like you claim.

Good for Nigel! Just proves the whole claim was a fairy story. I see this all the time with the left leaning political parties, we are shit scared of Reform so make something bad about them up. Pathetic
