I think we are on a precipice, if Boris/this version of the conservative party ends up with another term, every watchdog/arbiter that was once at least somewhat independent will be answering to Downing Street directly. There is nothing naive or bumbling about these plans, so don't explain Boris away in that way please. He is turning out to be a scary authoritarian and given enough leeway, **** knows what happens next.

Isn't Boris an ex Libertarian , his party think he's a raging socalist these days stealing Labour party thunder with raising taxes , strict Covid controls , funding health, extra coppers and Labours big favourite borrowing billions and debt .
