It is shocking - impossible to imagine any previous US president in my lifetime conducting themselves in this way.

This refers to pro Hamas incidents in universities. A small minority of them no doubt but you probably ignored them. But that almost certainly is what is being referred to here. There was nothing "inadvertent" about it.

I'm not sure using the houses you have won control of is the epitome of fascism that you think it is!

Jumpy? Yes, the world is uncertain, but the last decade or two have been pretty damned shit so I am no more jumpy than what has happened under the last US president!
Strangely a lot of American Jewish people disagree with you and Donald Trump, James.

Intimidation, silencing of dissent, and misusing the law and state institutions to crush political opposition (and opposition to complicity in genocide) should not be dressed up as something it isn't. Good to see Trump Tower so busy, though!

Hundreds of activists with a Jewish peace group staged a sit-in at US President Donald Trump’s signature headquarters in New York on Thursday demanding the immediate release of Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, Anadolu reports.

Chanting “Free Mahmoud, Free them all!” “We want justice, you say how? Bring Mahmoud home now!” and “Fight Nazis, not students!” protesters with the group Jewish Voice for Peace filled the Trump Tower lobby, voicing their opposition to the activist’s detention.

Many demonstrators wore red shirts emblazoned with the slogans “Not in our name” and “Stop arming Israel.”

Khalil, a green card holder and a recent Columbia University who helped organize campus protests last year, was arrested Saturday at his university-owned residence in what his lawyers said is a politically motivated deportation attempt by the Trump administration.

Campaigning last year to regain the presidency, Trump, behind closed doors, vowed to “throw out” pro-Palestinian foreign student protesters if he was elected, according to The Washington Post.

Khalil was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who claimed his student visa was revoked, even though he is a legal permanent resident and not in the US on a student visa. Agents then told him his green card was revoked.

He is married to a US citizen who is eight months pregnant. His wife condemned the arrest, saying she was “left wondering when Mahmoud will get a chance to call me.”

I'm not sure I agree with any president sine the origin of the USA - ok probably in his general demeanour etc but there have been expansionist US presidents before. They've been to war with Spain, Canada and Mexico previously with the intent on taking territory.

I can't see Trump starting WWW3 just to take over Benidorm.

neither can I, but he has repeatedly talked about annexing Greenland and Canada.

It's hard to see what his motivation is. In a couple of years he will no longer be president and he'll be a very old man. If they do manage to expand into the North, he won't really see any benefit from it.
I guess he wants to secure his legacy in the history books.

It all depends on who he's working for.

So who do you claim he is working for? I am almost interested in your answer.

My answer FWIW is Donald Trump is working for Donald Trump. What's yours?

Trump has always worked only for Trump (and whomsoever has leverage on him, and currently Putin sits in the driver's seat)

WEF it’s been this way for 10 years according to gluey. Founders must be dead or in tier 90s by now

This is usually the point where Gluey makes his excuses and leaves the conversation or goes all cryptic.

I’m sure your answer is right by the way.

Whilst everyone is talking about Trump we seem to have missed that Canadas new Prime Minister isn't even an elected MP.

                              Bad look that is.
