  • Re: The Donald Trump thread

Its just politics bugger all to do with impeachment.

""Trump has taken a reasonable position that the House’s failure to vote and its unabashedly partisan drive to impeach render the purported impeachment inquiry illegitimate.""

President Trump’s letter to Erdogan. Yes it’s for real. The fact that you will ask yourself that question as you read it is a reflection of just how remarkable it is. https://t.co/pLsZPynl5h

Shame you missed the next part of the article out of your post.
President Trump won’t budge: He refuses to comply with demands for information because the House has not formally voted to conduct an impeachment inquiry. House Democrats won’t budge: Speaker Nancy…

"Therefore, Trump has taken a reasonable position that the House’s failure to vote and its unabashedly partisan drive to impeach render the purported impeachment inquiry illegitimate.

Yet, the Constitution’s commitment of impeachment solely to the House’s discretion is a two-edged sword: Yes, it means the House should act as an institution; but it also means no one — not the courts, and certainly not the president — may dictate to the House whether, when and how to conduct an impeachment inquiry.

There is nothing in the Constitution that says the House must vote, or that it cannot act through such standing committees as Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, Oversight and Judiciary.
In fact, nothing in the Constitution directs the creation of committees; they exist because Congress, with nearly plenary power over the way it conducts business, created them."
Somehow, in a right-wing tabloid article, written by the author of a book called 'Ball of Collusion: The Plot to Rig an Election and Destroy a Presidency' where the tagline is "The real collusion in the 2016 election was not between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. It was between the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration" - Andrew McCarthy still concedes that the House don't have to vote on impeachment proceedings and certainly do not have to bend to the will of the despot President in charge of the USA.

Hence the word "reasonable" being used by the author not "President Trump's position is justified/correct".

Considering the headline is 'Pelosi’s impeachment drive is all politics, no law' - those paragraphs contradict the f**k out of those sentiments, don't they?

Deep State Don, swamp filler extraordinaire, is in Dallas tonight. He won't concern himself about who's hanging around near grassy knolls.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan put US President Donald Trump's letter "in the bin", the BBC has been told.

The letter told Mr Erdogan not to be "a fool" by launching a military offensive in northern Syria.

USA can't win criticised for occupying foreign lands and for leaving them , let Syria and Turkey sort it along with thier new Russian policeman, if only these countries could manage themselves and let different cultures live together in a free democratic way .

Why do you think it's fake news? Once it was confirmed that the infantile, threatening, 'bad bestie' letter from Trump was genuine, I am surprised if anyone is really surprised it was binned. As it was leaked to the world there is no value in it either for future blackmail of Trump or Trumpers - through extreme embarrassment at its contents.

And when you start 'USA can't win, criticised....' you do accept that it is Donald J Trump himself who is being criticised and some of the strongest criticism is coming from within the USA, and even from amongst the Republican Party loyalists who have been most supine and supportive of the cretin so far.

Yes I do accept Trump is being criticised over this withdrawal, ita still ironic , wasn't that a part part of his election deceleration to stop the USA involvement in foreign lands ? .

I'm sure the Republican and Democrat hawks are worried , perhaps he's aliging to a socialist viewpoint of non involvement in foreign lands, one you should support , nope can't win .

I note you avoid my point about these folk allowing cultures and people to live in a democratic way .

At least the alleged evil capitalist American world allows a form of mulit cultures , democracy and freedom of speach without being beheaded or imprisoned.
