Yes I had seen that Mr Bridgen had form for writing to the 1922 committee, although it seems that he withdrew the letter about David Cameron when no one else seemed interested.

Doesn't seem to have done him much good; as far as I can see he has never held even a junior government post.

Yes you're right but Andrew's got his cherished Brexit secured so he's a contented man. I get the impression he knows his place and is happier sniping from the sidelines.

This is exactly what is rotten about the whole set-up. Just look at the comments from cabinet members over the last 2 or 3 days, all repeating the mantra "we must wait for the outcome of the inquiry" . No-one will say what they really feel as they know it will severely hamper their chances in the future.

I'm sure you will forgive me for ' lapping ' up on you comment I think the plan has been in place for ages to replace him and put in a more one nation Tory .

One interesting point to consider: Rishi Sunak support /back up team are all Dominic Cummings ex staffers , the old DOM is on record as saying he wanted and got Rishi in power and tricked Boris into that situation , the sting in the tail is Labour lapping up the leaks from a Tory leaking machine , if true that is great covert political operation, as old Rishi is well dishy .

Sir Kier better pray Boris stays in power if he wants power , its bit like when Boris loved it when Corbyn was Labours leader as it brought silly power to Boris .

I see Liz Truss is using another Johnson Government favourite when they’ve ballsed things up again - “it’s time to move on”. Still find it incredible that she’s got one of the three big jobs in Government after Prime Minister and that she seems to be a genuine candidate to take over if Johnson goes.

They have uttet comtempt for the public.

The majority of their party and supporters.

The usual Tory boys will back them and throw in but but but Jeremy Corbyn or even now but but Tony Blairs govt.

Its unusual to wake up in the morning without someone from this Govt involved in some sort of scandal or downright incompetence.

Always the same cringy pathetic defence. This time wait for the enquiry. They have history for ignoring them anyway Priti Patel.

Removing the bufoon wont do much.

Next Tory leadership campaign will be like Boris' campaign in 2019, every candidate: 'Britain Deserves Better'.

                            Re: Dancing on Phillip’s grave

Having listened to Oliver Dowden on the Sunday Morning programme this morning it seems clear to me the way things are heading. Ms. Gray's inquiry will simply be a factual report. Following this, Boris Johnson will instigate a purge within Downing Street thereby demonstrating strong leadership whilst maintaining that he himself was misinformed and effectively misled into believing that the "gatherings" were business meetings with food/drink rather than parties per se. If the report can show that he was only present at one or two of the "gatherings" out of the 12 or so that we know about at the moment (there may be more of course, yet to be disclosed) then he obviously has to have a defence for those but I think he has the capability of bluffing his way out of that and certainly has the gall to ride it out, unless there is a serious revolt amongst Tory MP's to get the magic number of votes of no confidence.

The Daily Mail have ramped up that narrative, claiming it's the "woke" BBC's fault. Obviously looking to distance themselves from his downfall, blame the "wokes" and ensure a sweet majority for Sunak in 2024
