Sad but inevitable. The German economy would collapse overnight if Putin turned off their gas supply. The west is now paying the price for not pushing ahead with renewable energy sources way back in the 70's when dear old Sheik Yamani and his OPEC cronies could hold us to ransom over oil supplies.

Agreed, we should have been on renewables/nuclear by now, how could this have happened? Oh because all of our politicians and media are controlled by oil/the mega wealthy.

Whatever the criticisms we have of our governments dependency on Russian supplies just imagine what the German people think of Merkel from (old Soviet Bloc )and her era of cow tailing to Germany at the expense of its European neighbours.

She cancelled nuclear power option to partner with Russia ??

We're told Germany is the beacon to look up too ?? Well we may well find them languishing badly economically because of its reliance on its industries.

They are still digging up fossil fuels in massive amounts to feed its heavy manufacturer base .

So green, so greedy , so selfish ?
