Re: Coronavirus update
Amen to that. I’ve heard this too.....Originally posted by Vindec View PostThe vaccine is nearly ready. Front line NHS staff will get their vaccine in early December providing they have had their flu jab. Two doses 28 days apart will be required. Hopefully this will prove to be the game changer, when rolled out, we have been waiting for. I would prefer the politicians to go first as guinea pigs but you can't have everything.

Re: Coronavirus update
I didn't say they will be vaccinating everyone in December. I even indicated it will only be a game changer when rolled out but I expected those on here to either ignore potentially good news or find a way of dissing it. Here's an article from the Mirror which may make it more believable even though it doesn't say anything more than the Mail article posted earlier.Originally posted by Hilts View PostWhile I hope im wrong that article doesnt make me think they will be vaccinating in December.
An NHS trust chief sent an email to his staff saying the Health Service is preparing for a national vaccination programme before Christmas. The vaccine would be given in two doses, 28 days apart
I see Vaughan Gethin got a hammering on Marr this morning for the Welsh government's confusing messaging on its firebreak. Sound familiar?

Good, the power is going to their heads. People who most people hadn’t even heard of a year ago, and in another year hopefully never again....Originally posted by Vindec View PostI didn't say they will be vaccinating everyone in December. Re: Coronavirus update
I didn't see him get a hammering, but, clearly, banning "non essential" sales without giving some sort of idea what the term entailed was going to be a problem. However, I've no problem with the logic behind the original decision in that smaller, independent shops were, effectively, being discriminated against because supermarkets had sold the goods they specialised in while they were told they had to close.Originally posted by Vindec View PostI didn't say they will be vaccinating everyone in December. Re: Coronavirus update
Sadly, people should have known exactly what to expect from Johnson a year ago and yet we still got landed with him, all because he said "let's get Brexit done".Originally posted by goats View PostGood, the power is going to their heads. Do you think that online shops should also be banned from selling "non-essential" goods?Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostI didn't see him get a hammering, but, clearly, banning "non essential" sales without giving some sort of idea what the term entailed was going to be a problem. Re: Coronavirus update
Ive no problem with supermarkets not being allowed to sell non essential items. The idea is to avoid unnecessary contact with others so if you dont need something then dont go to the supermarket.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostI didn't see him get a hammering, but, clearly, banning "non essential" sales without giving some sort of idea what the term entailed was going to be a problem. Re: Coronavirus update
What's that got to do with anything? The point here is that specialist shops were forced to close first time around while supermarkets carried on selling the goods they traded in - that's discrimination and something should be done about it, the problem was that a term like "non essential goods" was never going to be precise enough to ensure this happened.Originally posted by LeningradCowboy View PostDo you think that online shops should also be banned from selling "non-essential" goods?
Maybe it would have been better if the type of shops that had to close were listed and supermarkets told they couldn't sell the goods these shops specialised in?

The surprise for me would be that anyone thought the current one would be enough to prevent something similar happening later in the winter.Originally posted by LeningradCowboy View Posthttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-54681885
