A bad few weeks for them

Firstly a wife-beating MP has the whip restored

Now a councillor poses with a gun to keep the English from crossing from Somerset.

In fairness, the party has acted quickly, especially on the latter case, but it surely says something of the party's character that the second guy feels at home as a councillor and is able to make such a poor taste joke?

Personally I like Adam Price, but there is a really nasty minority associated with the party that maybe has gone under the radar that he clearly needs to clamp down on. Like I said, clearly a joke, but plainly a deeply racist one and it was up for 2 weeks apparently.

Embarrassed to say that except for one instance of putting an X next to the name of an independent candidate at a local level I've never voted for anyone other than Plaid Cymru. That was until 1997 after which I've never voted as I determined it was futile because, for me, Labour and Tories were in fact the Uniparty, committed to enacting an identical agenda while playing the role of good cop when in opposition.

Years later, circa 2010-ish, I had a lengthy conversation with ex-Plaid leader Dafydd Wigley on a train's buffet carriage as he became increasingly bladdered. I learnt later thanks to this internet he loved the booze.

Needless to say everything he implied confirmed what I had thought.

As far as I'm aware, not one of the 650 MPs or the 900+ members of the House of Lords have uttered a single word of concern about the Nuremberg Code in relation to the coercion used by HM Government with regards to Covid jabs. I view them all with equal contempt.

Whilst some of their liberal policies are admirable they are on the whole a bunch of crazies

I have a lot of time for Will Hayward. I think he's the best columnist at the Western Mail / Echo.

On the wider debate, I am opposed to independence, but we should all keep an open mind on it. One thing I would say, is that the Barnett formula delivers a pretty good deal for Wales, albeit a lesser one than Scotland, which gets a very good deal.

It's plainly wrong that HS2 is considered an 'England and Wales' project, but that is one example and understandable that nationalists will pick up on it.

It is a peculiar thing to highlight though because Independence wouldn't fix that at all. Indeed, whilst we currently get X% of any new investment made in England when it's a devolved topic, if we were independent all that would disappear.

The only real benefit I can see is in terms of energy production, where we would likely be an exporter given our modest populatation. Others will see benefits in terms of identity etc, but I personally dont.
