Re: This Brexit malarkey is going well

    Some good news

The UK will drop plans to override the Brexit divorce deal, removing a potential obstacle to a trade deal.

The UK and EU have reached agreement on how rules in the Brexit divorce deal will be implemented, particularly in relation to Northern Ireland.

The government says an agreement in principle has been found for issues including border control posts and the supply of medicines.

The government says it will now withdraw controversial clauses in the Internal Market Bill.

However negotiations to reach a post-Brexit trade deal are still ongoing.

The details of the agreement have not been published but are expected to be rubber stamped in the coming days.

There’s no definitive answer yet as to who messed things up worst – but there are plenty of committed contenders, says Guardian columnist Marina Hyde

All I know is If Labour had held its nose and backed May's deal, Boris big majority may not have happened , Ironically we may now see Labour backing a Boris deal , priceless 😀

Indeed, I think Brexit changed politics and people's behaviours more than anything I can recall, the fact that 72% voted says a lot .

                  Do you?

I think that (despite the expected denials) Brexit was a major factor and the deal to acquire a modern assembly plant in France (which is in the EU!) with Smart car production thrown in offset any residual jingoism by the Brexit supporting owner.

Business men will take the better commercial deal, the new plant on the German French border is a fully ready to manufacture site Bridgend wasn't and then we have the wonderful M4 infrastructure issues that has stopped any businesses coming to Wales never mind the decades of bridge tolls , these are logistics brick walls we suffer from .

Its a petrol and diesel machine not a smart one.

We just got out bid is my guess.

The new Defender being built in Belpher in Derbyshire is going ahead ??

Tell you what lets blame everything on Brexit , Covid or Boris .

Wales has always been the number one pick in Europe for private industries and businessmen ,public health and educations , transportation infrastructures second to none .

I bet the world would live to buy in our commercial enterprise modelling , forward thinking business planning as we are are so far ahead of everyone its frightening .

The only failure and delusional thoughts are from the 20 years of poor governance and decision making ,outperforming public services in Wales .

Its not Brexit its poor management ,pity the folk of Wales cant see that ,even though the Brexit debate and vote got them all riled up ,lol , how sad

Ah, the familiar 'cat walking on the keyboard' implosion. I don't live in Wales and never have but this is obviously a decision made because of a number of factors which are all caused by or heavily influenced by Brexit.

"The site's location on the French-German border, only 200km from Stuttgart, gives excellent access to supply chains, automotive talent and target markets."

Hmm I wonder what major event coming up might affect supply chain and distribution??? Can't put my finger on it.
