If those bastions of integrity know the rules, who are we to question them?

Personally, I believe the whole concept of ‘financial fair play’ is bollocks. Utter nonsense, especially as the clubs who get punished are always those who have failed to obtain success and are already in trouble. But there we go, just a viewpoint.

Our goal difference is better than the 3 teams below us too.
This is why loads of us didn't panic.

        Nerves of steele.

Ccmb was falling to pieces not long ago.

              kinda.

Under these circumstances we'd lose two and a side below us would win two. The goal difference would change. But yeh, potentially worth a point.

It's kind of ironic how we might look to goal difference to keep us outside the relegation zone considering the noise regarding our lack of goals.

                So , yes , really

A team six points behind us needs 7 to overtake us because of our superior goal difference

I would have snapped your hands off for this position 6 weeks ago

Now we need to press on and get those points

No,it's goal difference. And a team can stay up on it if they are equal on POINTS with another team, but their goal difference is superior. It isn't a point, but it can save a team.

If the season ended in the next few weeks .....and a team below us in the last relegation place caught up with us and we were level on points then if we had better goal difference .....and I think we have at present .....then it means they need an extra point to go above us ......which they can't get if there are no games left

So if we are 6 goals clear going into the last game and there are two minutes left on the clock then its all over

You are talking to a brick wall. You know he will type until he is right.

Then we would stay up on goal difference in your scenario.

Yes , because that goal difference has basically given us an extra point

They wouldn't be relegated by goal difference if they had got 7 points

Thus our six point gap is a 7 point one

No, nobody is given an extra point, that only happens in people's heads, it is not logged as an extra point and you would not find it in any history books or would there be journalists, pundits or players saying that it's an extra point, because it isn't, never has been. It's goal difference, pure and simple.

                                It's essentially an extra point

We have 8 goals on our nearest relegation rival

If we continue to keep that sort of gap then come the end of the season if all things stay the same we will have the luxury of what is an extra point

                                It's very straightforward
