    Gerrard and Vieira at least have some success at club level to point to - I thought Vieira especiinitially did a good job of rebuilding Palace after the ageing squad that they were left with.

    Lampard on the other hand hasn't done anything notable in management, and gets the easiest ride from the press it's unbelievable.

    Even at Derby he got Mount, Tomori and Wilson on loan and still managed to get fewer points than the previous season

      When you look at how long Chelsea will be paying off the useless bunch they signed in the last 9 months on top of all the initial money spent you wonder at what point the new owner will completely lose interest. Without the Champions League he will already be a few hundred million in the hole by the start of next season at least.

      The irony is the success he had with the Dodgers was largely based on years of smart drafting, developing young players slowly and having the best scouting department in the game supplemented with some big money signings when they were ready to compete, but at Chelsea he’s apparently gone straight to splashing the cash in an attempt to skip the boring bits.
