Re: Coronation Cobblers And Nonsense
It's a huge historical event and I will watch a good chunk of it. But it is preposterous that it is on both BBC1 and BBC2Originally posted by bobh View PostJust glanced at tomorrow's TV
Over 7 hours on BBC1 AND BBC2 (probably exactly the same pics and commentary)
Ditto for ITV, but on the plus side, they won't have Weasel Witchel.

Re: Coronation Cobblers And Nonsense
I'm not saying the coronation isn't a massive event in the UK. Of course it is. I would expect the coronation to be the main subject in the news, that's not a problem. But of all things about the coronation, the biggest news story is about those queuing up to get in? Really?Originally posted by Moodybluebird View PostC'mon Eric don't be so naive. Whether you like it or not, a Coronation is a massively historic event for the UK. As Trump would say "It's Yuge"

It really does show what little progression there is in the UK when there are people defending the blue bloods

What it shows is that a sizeable percentage of the population value and cherish the country's history and traditions. The monarchy, whether you like them or not, is very much part of that.Originally posted by ToTaL ITK View PostIt really does show what little progression there is in the UK when there are people defending the blue bloods

So colonization, subjugation of others, erasing their culture, theft of their property, and genocide is all OK, because it's "traditional".Originally posted by Moodybluebird View PostWhat it shows is that a sizeable percentage of the population value and cherish the country's history and traditions. Re: Coronation Cobblers And Nonsense
I caught a bit of BBC yesterday and someone said the whole world is watching. However, it's not exactly the talk of the village here in the snowy environs of the Kyrgystani mountains.Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostSo colonization, subjugation of others, erasing their culture, theft of their property, and genocide is all OK, because it's "traditional".

Re: Coronation Cobblers And Nonsense
Heard it said that it’s a ‘once in a generation occasion’, I’d imagine the majority of the population will witness at least another one in their lifetime. Isn't Charles in his 70s now? Not interested myself but it gives us all a break from Wrexham this & Wrexham that
