  • Birmingham points deduction

Birmingham City have been given a two-point deduction by the EFL, suspended until the end of the 2023-24 season.

So how does that work exactly?

Birmingham City are given a suspended two-point deduction by the English Football League for rule breaches during an unsuccessful takeover bid.

An entity called Shelby Companies Limited has taken over the Small Heath based Birmingham City? What could possibly go wrong?

      He'll get you some
You ain't got no car? He'll get you one
      You ain't got no self-respect,
      you feel like an insect
      Well don't you worry buddy,
      cause here he comes
Through the ghettos and the barrio
and the bowery and the slum
A shadow is cast wherever he stands
Stacks of green paper in his
      red right hand

Same with reading's this season I suppose, if they don't comply with what has been agreed the 2 get deducted.

Not sure quite how much 2 points is a deterrent from anything at this stage.

Also not sure I like the efl handing out these deductions like sweets every season.
