The retained list is just a list of players under contract for next season.

Last season Joe Ralls wasnt on our list but eventually signed.

Bagan and Harris wont be on our retained list as it stands but may still sign.

I think it also specifies which players under the age of 24 are out of contract but have been offered a new one. Those players would be free agents, but the club would be due a transfer fee

So if we offer Bagan a new contract if he refuses we get a fee?

Yes, as long as the contract we offer him is an improvement on his last

I wasn’t being aggressive with that comment, I don’t think the squad is that bad but needs serious tweaking in key areas but I don’t think any of those add enough to the squad to warrant a contract.

Is there anyone at the club capable of making a decision? Steve Borley is probably the closest to having any relevant knowledge.

Apologies for highlighting this but the squad in my opinion is one of the weakest for many many years, it lacks bottle / drive / fight and ambition. The key areas are in my opinion - keeper / defence / midfield and the forward line.

We were the third worst team in the division, have a woeful home record and no manager...

Meanwhile the Emperor continues to play his fiddle.

Tan’s told the EFL that he’ll sue them unless they give us an exclusive extension of the deadline because we haven’t got a manager.
