  • Soccer AM

    Just watched the last show.

It seems a shame that it has finished after such a great run…but guess it has been stale for a good number of years.

I missed most of it due to being here, but really enjoyed it when I was home.

Last few years I’ve been able to watch it if up early enough.
Can’t believe they stuck with Bullard on there, he just seems so unlikable.

He said something funny once about 15 years ago and has lived off it ever since - the funny footballer.

A bit too annoyoing for me as well but he did score these against us in 2011

I stopped watching around the time Tim Lovejoy left.

From 1996-2006/7 Soccer AM was the best show on TV. It felt like you were in a room with a bunch of your mates talking about and watching football. Loved it. I have no doubt that my kids love of football stems from it

I ended up sat next to Helen Chamberlain at the BDO darts at Frimley Green. She was great company and didn't act the "star" at all

Was the best thing about Saturday mornings back back in the day.
Me and my mates were the City fans on there on FA Cup final day against Pompey. Fair play that was a great experience. Sky paid for our hotel for the Friday night, but said if we wanted to stay Saturday night we had to pay. Checked with the hotel and they said it was something like 300 quid, so that was a non starter. We checked with Sky if they could get it discounted and they said £25 per night. So we said great book us in from Thursday. Went to the test match at Lords on the Friday, FA Cup Final Saturday and home Sunday. That’s my sort of perfect weekend except for the Pompey defeat.

That was the start of the decline.
Another nail in the coffin was getting rid of Helen.

Same here. Can’t stand Jimmy Bullard and he has to take on the guest pro every week because he is desperate to show he still has it.
