Live outside Old Trafford interviewing two fans about to board their coach. I’m sure the interviewer was there to witness disgust & criticism of the rail strikers yet the the woman, who as ever did most of the talking :hehe:, said that they always travelled by coach and enjoyed it. She added that she supported the strikers, as she supported any worker over pay and conditions and fully understood that today was a perfect day to strike for maximum impact. Not sure if her response was the one that was wanted.

    Never thought I’d admire a Man U fan:hehe:

You can imagine his producer, hoping for an early morning anti union, ‘disgusted by selfish, overpaid rabble rousers’ rant berating the interviewer with a ‘Why the bloody hell did you have to pick those two??’ :hehe:

Backfired just a tad. The BBC's Tory handlers won't be too happy.

Think the beeb failed to realise that most of those travelling by coach probably would have done so anyway, whether there's a train strike or not.

That’s what I was thinking, coach travel always seems the preferred way. Especially Wembley( unless you’re making a weekend of it), straight in, no faffing about on the tube etc and straight away afterwards, the coach is much more convenient.

Obviously the agenda is to demonise the strikers. As has been said many times, the way the railways are run in this country strike days are the only days you definitely know what’s happening with the system.:hehe:

Slight irony that the person driving her coach will be on far less than the train driver mind..

Let’s hope those travelling have some cash on them for the drivers tip and don’t use the excuse “I’ve only got my card” !!!!

And that, in a nutshell, is why everybody needs a strong union fighting for better pay and conditions. Well pointed out James:thumbup:

I’m always hearing this. Interviewer to a hard done by traveller/patient/‘victim’ - “So what do you think of the unions taking this action?” Member of public - “Yes I’m affected but I support them.” Interviewer retreats disappointed.
