I wonder how much a team like Miami are able to offer - they get lower crowds than us, and not sure what the TV deals are like for the MLS

Well, they play in a temporary stadium outside of Miami for now, the TV deals aren’t great (about 8 million a year per team on the new Apple deal according to the random article I found) but like the Beckham deal with LA Galaxy back in the day the vast majority of what he will get paid is personal sponsorships. Beckham was rumored to get 50 million a year from Adidas if I remember correctly and I can only imagine that figure has gone up since then. Messi already has Adidas and Apple lined up.

➡️ Percentage on subscriptions to the MLS Season Pass from APPLE TV, paid directly by APPLE
➡️ Percentage of Inter Miami shirt sales, paid directly by Adidas
➡️ Possibility of acquiring an MLS franchise at the end of his career

Note that all MLS franchises contributed financially to see the Argentinian come to USA. 🇺🇸💸
