Re: Inspiral Carpets - Tramshed - June 16
Shame no original vocalist…TH…Originally posted by Harry Lime View PostSaw them in 1989 when Tom Hingley was on vocals and with the late Craig Gill on drums. Saw Tom in Jaks in Aberdare a few years ago too. The current line up is a pale imitation I'm afraid, although I've got a lot of time for Clint Boon.

The original vocalist Stephen is a bloody good bloke...lost his place to alcohol dependency and is now a counsellor. He's not Tom Hingley but he left on bad terms so that's not going to happen. I've watched them live a few weeks ago on a stream and they were pretty tight, the vocals aren't Tom Hingleys but I can never get to pale imitation as the music coming out of them is the real deal to get you bopping and smiling. Clint Boon worth the entrance fee alone!

He was but Tom's distinctive voice was the only one during their meaningful career. That along with Clint's organ and percussion was pretty much their sound. Craig Gill was a brilliant drummer too.Originally posted by gabbsthenewt View PostAu contraire Stephen Holt is the original vocalist!
I was tempted to go
