My favourite away trip, as the burger vans are outnumbered by the pasty vans ( I’m easily pleased )
Plymouth is a pretty backward place. Plenty of locals out looking menacing, although they never really go for it. It was one of those where you had to be alert.

Plymouth Tourism Centre are recruiting for a PR manager if you're interested?

Drove through there from the ferry last week. Like driving through a set from Shaun of the Dead..
Who remembers Plymouth Away Boxing Day 2000 or 2001. Height of the Sam fun days.
Christmas hats, and a free turkey sandwich and glass of bubbly if you travelled by coach.

Coldest match I’ve ever been at!
2000, yes. I remember listening to the game on Real Radio. We lost 2-1. I recall the late Phil Suarez commenting that the broadcasters and some of the press were indoors commentating on the game looking through windows and Gary Bell kept wiping the condensation off the inside of the window so they could see what was happening.
Another quick question about that game - which Argyle player that caused City no end of problems that day ended up at Spurs?

And great question about the player that ended up at spurs… I don’t have a scooby!
Neither do I. I'm sure I'd read somewhere that he was voted the worst player of all time at Spurs, yet it appears he never played for them. I'm getting old and confused.
He did play for Sheffield Wednesday though. To be honest, the whole question and answer is utterly irrelevant due to my total incompetence.

There was one fantastic moment when Gary Bell said to Suarez "I wouldn't have to wipe these windows down so often if you didn't come out with so much hot air."

No worries I enjoyed thinking about it anyway. Nice to see even experts like you can get it wrong occasionally.
I had a look at line ups and completely forgot Wayne O Sullivan played against us that day.

The areas of Mutley and Pennycomequick make it difficult to take the place seriously (although the latter is supposedly derived from the Brythonic 'Pen y cwm').
