Re: Bundesliga 2
I'm on a mission to tick off as many grounds as I can, including those lower down the German leagues too (don't ask why, even I don't have an answerOriginally posted by Harry Lime View PostHeidenham?
Presumably twinned with West Ham.
St Pauli still need a point to avoid the 'playout' after the aforementioned won yesterday, I can't see them getting that today. Never ideal going to the final game even though it's at home to Bochum.
). So I was at Eintracht yesterday for the St. Pauli match - in the away end. They did get that point - and jubilation at the end - even though it is only 99% safe. Totally brilliant atmosphere generally, but also with a small slightly unpleasant edge that I haven't seen much in German football.

Re: Bundesliga 2
Was that coming from the Frankfurt fans? I can imagine St Pauli tend to get a rise from your average far right loon. That said, I'm sure St Pauli have an element of troublemakers. Is there a particular history between them?Originally posted by Swiss Peter View PostI'm on a mission to tick off as many grounds as I can, including those lower down the German leagues too (don't ask why, even I don't have an answer

Re: Bundesliga 2
No - I don't think so. The real high tension games for St Pauli tend to be in the east, and especially at Hansa Rostock. There was lots of goading at the station from the local fans on Sunday, especially as the away special pulled out - felt like a throw back to the 80s!. The heat and beer probably didn't help! (...and yes FCSP have an element too).Originally posted by Harry Lime View PostWas that coming from the Frankfurt fans? I can imagine St Pauli tend to get a rise from your average far right loon. Re: Bundesliga 2
At one point before last weekend there was a chance of a Hamburg St Pauli relegation play-off but instead Hamburg won, dozens of fans got injured while storming the pitch (some seriously) and they ripped up chunks of turf as mementoes. The madness of Bundesliga 2 gets everywhere!

Re: Bundesliga 2
Granted this thread is Bundesliga 1 and 2 focused, but great end of season here in the Netherlands.
Ajax were 9 points clear, home and dry about a month ago. Since then they've drawn 2 lost 2, and conceded yesterday in the 98th minute. PSV have won their last 6 and just gone top going into the final game!
Good clip of the PSV fans in the ground hearing the news yesterday

Re: Bundesliga 2
Haven't seen this thread in a while so pulling it up for the last day of the season. Probably not as mad as previous years - Schalke promoted a couple of weeks ago and championship already decided. Bit of a squeeze for the other place but Elversberg look in control (at the moment). At the bottom it's tighter than a haddock's chuff, and the odd goal here and there could cause everything to change. Furth are already 3-0 up against Dusseldorf and have clawed back the goal difference to go above them (for now). If the latter go down there'll be a 50k seater in 3.Liga next year. Poor old Jesper Daland; can't keep him away from relegation battles!

Re: Bundesliga 2
Not sure which of Elversberg making B1 or Düsseldorf in B3 feels more out of place. St Pauli have been poor this season Harry and the relegation was coming. Major reset needed there!Originally posted by Harry Lime View PostPlace the size of Dusseldorf playing host to 3rd tier football next season.
I was disappointed to see St Pauli go down yesterday. You aren't going to stay up scoring just 29 goals in 34 games though.

Had a bad feeling when Hurzeler was nabbed by Brighton. That said, I was fairly optimistic early on. After that, the whole thing seemed to unravel in slow motion.
