Re: Same Old English Alway's Cheating
Scrolling through twitter there's hardly anyone who thinks this was the correct decision. If there wasn't a sudden change in direction Farrell would have hit Basham at the same height, but on the other side. He made no attempt to either wrap his arms, or tackle in a lower position. Thought this was all about player safety. It clearly isn't if they think Farrells technique is still acceptable.

Re: Same Old English Alway's Cheating
Totally corrupt. They "questioned the player in detail". What a joke. He's got previous and nobody who saw the contact, even the English commentators, believed it to be anything other than a red card. To be fair to many England fans online, they believe the decision to be shameful too.Originally posted by Whisperer View Post

Re: Same Old English Alway's Cheating
No attempt to wrap = no mitigation permitted so it is a baffling one. It's created a real issue for the world cup too as they will need to keep justifying why lesser offences are red cards and this will continually be brought up. Also if Farrell actually completes his mission and removes somebody's head, he will have been playing because the panel made this decision.
