I've got a couple of rental houses and got more into diy since lockdown. Bought a Draper 18v drill a few years ago - crap as no oomph and batteries don't last long. Need something to cope with putting up fencing and drilling into brick etc . What would you lovely people recommend? cheers:thumbup:

If cordless is important and it's mostly indoor stuff drilling smaller holes then £100 should get you a two bakit sefff and a brushless body from Makita, DeWalt, Bosch blue, Hitachi etcComment

Phone went mad there.
Use UK hot deals too- there is normally a decent offer on somewhere. I use Makita too. If you are buying separates- the charger should be no more than £25; pay about £10 per Ah on the batteries (18v) and don't bother with anything less than 3Ah. Brushless is better but unless you are using it frequently then dont make it a biggie. Ive done up 3 houses now, fitted a few kitchens and built a few sheds and garages and I've managed without brushless until recently.
Once you've got a few batteries though, you are tied to that system really.Comment

Depends on if your budget is fixed at 100 quid
£330, but comes with 2 large capacity 5.0 ah batteries and has a good torque
110 quid, comes with 2 X 2.0 ah batteries, so the run time will be 1/2 that of the above, the torque on this drill is much less aswell
BUT
the cheaper drill will do almost eveything, it might not be driving in a 4" screw straight through a fence post, but it would drill a pilot hole and drive it in easy enough, its of course a 1/3rd of the price, so you could get 2 of them and have 4 batteries charged and still have a £110 in your pocket
you then have something like this
2 X 5.0 ah batteries, a massive torquey drill, its a beast, all for 200 quid, putting my brand loyalty to one side ( i love dewalt gear ) this just looks to best buyComment
