May be first in the league but we played Celtic in a pre-season friendly for the first match.

Think the club chose Celtic, as they wanted to give them the Jock Stein plaque to take back to Glasgow.

It's still by the gates as you come in from Sloper Road, or is that a replacement?

Shocking really when you think of the money in English football.

Oh, memories of that last match of the season in the fourth tier. Really thought we were taking off then, not quite.

The was the ‘official’ stadium opening, but I’m sure there were a couple of smaller friendlies with reduced capacities before that? Chasetown were first I think, followed by someone else? Not 100% sure.

I don’t live too far from Scunthorpe, I don’t pay too much attention to what’s happening there, but know a lot of their fans. They’re going to be playing their home games at Gainsborough, about 15 miles away, with shit public transport. They’ve been promised a new ground time and time again as Glanford Park sits in the middle of a prime retail park, but nothing ever comes from it.
As of tonight, fans have raised £21k in a day to try and save the club.

'The Scunthorpe Problem' was probably the city's greatest claim to fame :hehe:

Glanford Park still one of the best days ever following the City
