Re: Murray Walker
Just been having a read of some of his quotes :hehe:
The lead car is unique, except for the one behind it which is identical.
Jenson Button is in the top ten, in eleventh position.
This would have been Senna's third win a row if he'd won the two before.
Mansell is slowing it down, taking it easy. Oh, no he isn't! It's a lap record.
And the first three cars are all Escorts, which isn't surprising as this is an all Escort race.

Re: Murray Walker
I haven't watched F1 for a few seasons and I know he retired coming up to 20 years ago but it was his commentating that got me in to F1 all the years ago.
I really enjoyed his autobiography.
He seemed like the perfect gentleman.
A big City fan too. :hehe:

Do my eyes deceive me or is Senna's car sounding rough?Originally posted by valleys caveman View PostJust been having a read of some of his quotes :hehe:

I imagine that conditions in those cars today are totally unimaginable.
RIP Murray

Re: Murray Walker
The European drivers have adapted to this circuit extremely quickly, especially Paul Radisich who's a New Zealander.Originally posted by The Bloop View PostDo my eyes deceive me or is Senna's car sounding rough?

Re: Murray Walker
He's not been commentating for quite a while now and I must say that the F1 hasn't been the same since he retired.
Murray's enthusiasm for motor sport was a big factor that got me watching.
Yes he made many a boo boo but he was one who could laugh at himself.
Not just the formula one either, the rally cross on a Saturday afternoon was a great watch with his dulcet tones accompanying the drama.
97 is a good age.
RIP Murray, Mister Motorsport.

Strangely enough I was watching old clips of rallycross on YouTube this morning, with Murray commentating.Originally posted by MacAdder View PostHe's not been commentating for quite a while now and I must say that the F1 hasn't been the same since he retired.

He was to Motorsport what Bill McLaren was to rugby union. Both legends.
