Watched the game in Protaras, Cyprus, bloke on a table near me in the bar says to me, ‘Dear God, is that Rob Page? He used to manage us’. I’ve never, ever met a Port Vale fan on holiday before, so that was the initial shock, regardless of our result tonight his opinion of Page wasn’t so much of a shock. Can’t knock Page at this particular moment but a Port Vale fan having a go puts things into perspective. Great result though:wales:

Re: Port Vale Fan
Brilliant result and history will judge, one way or another that he took us to our first world cup in a million years etc etc.
I find him very uninspiring but I suppose his record isn't bad really, and that's with losing some of the best talent Wales had for years.
He got lucky in exceptional circumstances I guess, but deserves some credit.
And I've always quite liked Port Vale for some reason. Nice name. Not Stoke City.

Arsenal, though arguably they were originally Woolwich Arsenal before they moved north of the river.Originally posted by bobh View PostInteresting "fact" about Port Vale (probably wrong :hehe: )
I was told they are the only team in the league not named after a place you can find on a map.
Cue a shedload of responses refuting this.

Re: Port Vale Fan
But it wasn't named after a place, the station was named after the club.Originally posted by Dorcus View PostThere's an Arsenal Underground station.
Arsenal was named after a building, which is a place - but not one found on the map like the post said.
Ready for someone to continue playing semantics tennis with me :hehe:
