This update has just been added to his gonfundme page:

"Thankyou to everyone who supported this campaign. Whether you donated, shared or just simply took the time to read the support meant the world to my dad.

Unfortunately my dad, Ian passed away peacefully in his sleep yesterday morning (December 31st 2023) after being made comforable at his request to the hospice nurses saturday morning following a rapid deterioration over christmas.

I will be stopping donations on this campaign soon. Thankyou once again to everybody who gave my dad the mental uplift he desperately needed with this disease and helped him fund some of the adaptions that he needed to live comfortably at home until the end.

From the bottom of my and the rest of my families hearts. Thankyou.

    - Ians daughter"

    RIP Ian

That's terribly sad news. What a brave man whose posts were always interesting though very sad.

To his daughter: my condolences I'm so sorry for your loss.

What an awful disease MND is, it hardly seems five minutes since Ian was telling us his story on here. I can remember trying to reassure him, but, with his background, I’m sure it was more than just an inkling he had and he gently pointed out that I was wrong.

I suppose it’s better he went as he did, rather than linger for a few more months - it would have been existing, rather than living.

                      RIP
