The children's book he is describing tells the story of a lion/boy who must ascend a steep mountain in the winter cold to secure a special flower that contains the antidote to a poison that is killing his little sister, Chloe. It is a race against time, during which he must cross a raging river (twice), ward off packs of hungry wolves as well as navigate darkness amidst a snowstorm. He manages the feat, saving his sister and thereby ascending, as has been the case in human tribes since time immemorial, into the ranks of manhood.
